Two 20FT Folding Houses: A Win in the “Space Game” for an Irish Electrician Client

Two 20FT folding houses, joined side by side, formed a boutique homestay in rural Ireland. The client, a senior electrician, held strict standards for electrical work and spatial design, scrutinizing every circuit detail with no room for compromise.

His initial need was a two-bedroom, one-living room layout with a stylish shower, but the 30-square-meter combined space posed a challenge. Our first two layout attempts failed to meet his bottom line of two equal-sized bedrooms.

We offered two options: a traditional rectangular shower leaving one bedroom cramped, and a custom high-end semicircular corner shower with curved sliding doors. The latter saved space, featured premium finishes, and kept both bedrooms spacious—an easy choice for the client, who later praised it as better than hotel showers.

To combat Ireland’s high humidity, we added a heat-recovery ventilation system, high-power shower exhaust fan, wall moisture barriers, and bathroom waterproofing/mold-resistant paint—details that impressed the client.

Prioritizing electrical compliance, we designed the system to Irish standards: sufficient UK sockets, independent high-power circuits, robust grounding, and reserved interfaces for photovoltaics and smart home systems. The client verified every detail with a multimeter, confirming its professionalism.

Production took 35 days, sea freight one month, and on-site installation just two days. The homestay now operates successfully, achieving full occupancy in its first week.
